Bach Flower Remedies

Bach Flower Remedies

Bach flower remedies are a type of supplementary or alternative medicine that is used to alleviate emotional issues and discomfort. They’re prepared with watered-down extracts from wild plant blossoms.

These remedies were produced in the early 1900s by Edward Bach, a medical practitioner and homeopath. The belief of homeopathy is that the body can heal itself. It treats the body and mind using little doses of natural ingredients such as plants and minerals. Bach flower treatments are based on the same principles as homeopathy. However, they employ fewer materials and focus on the emotions rather than the physical symptoms. Bach thought that resolving unpleasant emotions aids the body’s natural healing process. His approach consists of 38 medicines, each of which addresses a different unpleasant feeling.

The emotions are divided into seven categories:-

  • Fear
  • Uncertainty
  • Lack of interest in present circumstances
  • Loneliness
  • Oversensitivity to influences and ideas
  • Sadness or despair
  • Cares for others at the expense of self
